Growing Ambitions ::: inspiring career talks for young people

Welcome to Growing Ambitions™. We put real people, doing real jobs, in front of young people to tell them what their careers are really like and give them great ideas for their future. As a nation we are generous in giving to charity, but giving of oneself through talking about one's career gives speakers genuine satisfaction and makes a lasting difference to young lives. Growing Ambitions is a UK-wide initiative. We are a not-for-profit organisation.

This matchmaking service links enthusiastic Speakers from the workplace with careers education teachers and advisers. People in jobs they love, volunteer through us to go and talk to young people in their own local areas, on dates that suit them.

Speakers come from all sectors including the professions; commerce; banking; industry; trades; academia; sport; leisure; the armed forces and more. Careers advisers need Speakers for students at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and on up to the end of university.

Within today's Information, Advice and Guidance (IAC) environment, providing vibrant, genuine and informative Word-Related Learning experiences at are crucial in helping young people to make good GCSE, A level, Diploma, degree and other training choices like apprenticeships. Through capacity-building career talks from workplace volunteers, young people form informed career plans that are more likely to endure.

Growing Ambitions™ equips those in careers advice roles to provide potentially life-changing insights into the workplace. Give a young person a dream and careers guidance can then be well-targetted and all the more effective.

We give business and all workplace organisations an easy means of fulfilling their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and building community relationships. Business / Education links through volunteering are good news for all parties, and stand to enhance skills levels UK-wide in the medium to longer term.
